In-Character Information
Name: Dachora (the baby the baby the baby)
Game/Series: Metroid
Teacher/Student/Other: Student/ Auto Shop assistant
Canon Point: 10 years after Metroid Fusion (On Samus' timeline)
Age: 10.
Grade Level/Class Taught/Job: Freshman
Dorm or Living Arrangement: Not entirely sure, yet. She will probably try and live in her jacked up transpo pod for as long as possible before someone cries child self- abuse.
Personality:
As both a ten year old an an extraterrestrial, it's Dachora's job to be as inquisitive as possible. And she is, to a fault. Now that she's here, she wants to know everything that's worth knowing. She'll be sure to tell you whether what you're trying to tell her falls in that category or not. Likewise, she's definitely one to tell you her opinion on something, and probably will not fully understand why you're upset about it. It's not that she's especially callous, she did spend her whole life in relative isolation in another galaxy, after all. Space ostriches just don't have the same social stigmas. Also, she's kind of bratty, that might have something to do with it. She's used to being taken care of, and in her eyes there's no reason at all why she should not get exactly what she wants. And again, what she wants is to learn. She's a bright girl, eager to pick up a task after only being shown once. The issue usually comes in trying to keep her from bragging about all the awesome things she knows.
Despite enjoying company, Dachora makes good use of time spent on her own. She can easily make her own fun, whether it be by devouring a book, or exploring the big world around her. She especially likes to wander when upset, she has the tendency to become withdrawn and sullen when someone angers her, the emotional equivalent to laying her head in the grass. She can hold a grudge, and thinks revenge is a dish best served cold, so one should watch out for possible property damage in the future after a run in with her, even if she's more at fault. Her desire to explore can get her in trouble, as invasive as it tends to be. But on the other side of the coin, she is a young bird. If you prove yourself to be a good person, she'll likely follow you around as much as possible, happy to observe. She's not as likely to give you a big, appreciative smile as she is to just sit down next to you and lay her head on your shoulder. Explosive shows of emotion are not in her bag of tricks. She doesn't smile a whole bunch, and when she does, it's always close mouthed. She's not shy (or even especially quiet) just cerebral, preferring very much to live in the realm of her mind instead of the realm of others.
Her favorite thing in the world is to tinker with mechanics and such. After the long trip, she's become well accustomed to how vehicles work, and she her ultimate goal is to build her own ship one day. In the meantime, she wants to pick up as many different elements from as many different crafts as she can. Many an hour will be spent in the autoshop, looking up at all the parts with wide eyes. Nothing gets her quite as excited. Whenever she gets homesick, she will end up there, distracting herself with an impromptu project. As far as she's concerned, to gain creativity out of a negative emotion is the best possible outcome! It's okay to feel homesick, or a little bit scared of being on your own, as long as you turn that feeling into something else. She wants very much to be brave like her mother, and make her, and the other residents of the planet she grew up on, proud.
Her mother is definitely her biggest role model. She could talk about her for ages. Because of her mother, and the stories her mother told her about Samus, the little Dachora has a fondness for heroic stories on a grand scale, and of the heroes that reside in them. She will be a bit shocked at how many of those heroes exist at Smash, but she will have to learn how to deal with being let down, that everyone is human. It's easy for her to put any one person up on a high pedestal, with no hope of getting down peacefully. She plans to become a big hero like the characters she loves so much, she's just waiting for the right chance, the right situation. She figures that when it comes, she'll know.
Essentially, her mission is observation. She can learn far more about a person just watching them go about their day than she could if she was having a conversation with them, or so she thinks. She has a lot to learn about communication, especially being part of a large community like this, really for the first time. But culture shock isn't her thing. She's a nomad, just like her mother. If mom and the Etecoons could get used to a brand new planet, so can she. She's out to prove herself, and if a few heads get knocked around in the process, so be it. There's nothing to be afraid of!
Backstory:
Once upon a time, a bounty hunter in a power suit rescued a tall, mohawked bird called a Dachora. The Dachora taught the bounty hunter how to Shinespark, and the bounty hunter, mourning the loss of her baby metroid, rescued the Dachora from an exploding Zebes, along with a few Etecoons and the Dachora's egg.
Not long after, the alien animals were able to return the favor. Their stay on the BSL research station was ended prematurely by the emergence of the X parasite, though neither the Etecoons or the Dachora were targeted by X. After discovering the familiar faces and freeing them, Samus found that the mama Dachora was able to get onto her gunship, along with the bird's extended brood, and swooped in (piloting the gunship on their own) just in the nick of time to rescue Samus from the exploding (this tends to happen a lot when the bounty hunter is present) station, only moments after she killed a giant Omega Metroid, and only moments before the station blew to smithereens.
The creatures were given a new home on Zebes' sister planet, Tallon IV. They quickly became accustomed to the familiar ecosystem, and watched with fondness as Samus Aran left them for her next adventure.
However, the infant Dachora remembers hardly any of this. Sure, her mother has told her countless times, the tale of the fearless amazon warrior that saved them from Zebes, but hell, she wasn't even alive when Zebes blew. So all that she knew was this: she had a fairly normal life with her mother, the Etecoons, and various other creatures that lived around them on Tallon IV. Much like how the mother Dachora had taught Samus to Shinespark, the young Dachora learned much from her mother, how to run fast, how to avoid being spotted by predators, and how to work her way around modern technology. She gained an affinity for making machines go, and for the idea of piloting. She imagined herself in thrill seeking situations, piloting ships away from exploding planets without even looking back.
More than anything, she thought, she wanted that.
But no. She had to show up at a time when the danger was behind them. The most adrenaline pumping moment of her life had already passed, and she was too young to even remember it. As it is with most mothers, the elder Dachora could tell something was digging at her daughter. This was an easy fix. Though the universe they lived in was a cold and unforgiving one, she knew that there was someone outside of her extended family on Tallon IV she trusted with her child. After some modifications to a nearby pod dug deep into the ground, left over from the planet's more dangerous times, the young Dachora was given a tearful goodbye, and explicit instructions who to look for and what to get when arriving onto a new planet. The pod was outfitted with certain homing instructions (the Dachora mother remembered a thing or two about Samus' gunship), and before long, crash landed in a new, strange city. Try and blend in, her mother had told her, and as it turned out, that wasn't especially difficult in a place where much of the population was assorted creatures in human forms. Outfitted with an anklet transformation device, she set out to find one Samus Aran.

Mother
I'm writing this to you as a human
Which is weird
If you thought our natural bodies were sort of weird and gangly it's nothing compared to this
Anyways now I'm eating something the guy in the place with the big glass containers called a sandwich
He asked me to give him something in return it but i don't have anything like that so i just took the sandwich and ran out of the store
He tried to chase me but he should have known better than to try and run as fast as one of our kind
I still haven't found Samus Aran but I think I'm getting close
Or I guess I don't really know but she has to be somewhere on this planet right
Unless she just dumped her gunship and got a new one or something but I don't think she would do that not the way you described her
When I meet Samus Aran I wonder what she will call me
I am proud to be what I am but my name is not as impressive as Samus Aran
My name is not as impressive as anything since I don't think I really have a name
Maybe I will try and come up with my own name
I will keep sifting through this footage I downloaded and I will write you when I find her
Your child

This is a lot easier with fingers, the Dachora in human guise thought to herself, as she sat in the scraps of what was left of the pod that took her to this planet. It had been a long journey, and the small, old craft was definitely done for when it came to transportation, but she needed a place to plug in. Said fingers flew across an alien keyboard. She had already been through the security tape footage of several large institutes nearby, including banks, bars, and most interestingly, schools. Though many of them had yielded nothing interesting, once she landed on Smash Academy, she began to notice a short, sullen looking blonde woman frequenting the footage. Something about her pinged in the Dachora's mind, she matched her mother's description of what Samus Aran looked like.
She couldn't be sure until the sudden flashing appearance of the familiar physiology of the Power Suit dashing across the screen during one of the schools (many) moments of crisis.
So was this the place she would have to stake out in order to find the woman she was here to find? Within the school's database, the woman was impossible to tap down. No billing address. She was good. She supposed the gunship, if she could track it down, would be a good place to start. And maybe, she thought while continuing to watch explosions and attacks flash across the footage screen, this school would be a good place to start looking for some adventure.
